TEHRAN The Fifth Seminar on Geographical Information Systems commenced here Wednesday. The secretary of the seminar Engineer Mehri Mahdavi said that the seminar is aimed at promoting GIS culture throughout the country. Out of the 80 articles sent to the secretariat, 18 will be presented at the seminar, Ms. Mahdavi said. She added that a training workshop will also be held on using space sciences in preparing maps by an expert from Indian Space Organization. A two-day exhibition will be held on the sidelines of the seminar attended by 23 government organizations and private companies.
